 Born in Philadelphia on May 17, 1956, Bob Saget studied at Temple University’s film school. He shared this childhood photo with dad Ben Saget on Facebook in 2016.

Saget's breakout TV role was as a member of CBS' The Morning Program in early 1987.

Later that year, Saget booked his beloved role as Danny Tanner on Full House. The popular sitcom ran from 1987 through 1995 and featured early stars like John Stamos and the Olsen twins.

Saget began hosting America's Funniest Home Videos in 1989, proving his comedy chops extended beyond the PG humor of Full House.

Among his other famous roles was as the narrator on How I Met Your Mother, which premiered in September 2005.

Saget's other roles in the early 2000s included recurring a role in Entourage as well as appearances on Law & Order: SVU, Shameless and Grandfathered.

In 2014, Saget released his book Dirty Daddy about his career, love for comedy and experiences with fame.

In 2016, Saget returned to the role that launched his career. He reprised Danny Tanner for Netflix’s revival Fuller House.

Saget married wife Kelly Rizzo in October 2018 on a beach in Santa Monica. Many of his Full House costars, including John Stamos, Lori Loughlin and Jodie Sweetin, attended.

Saget’s acting legacy was marked by his mentorship for fellow actors. He is survived by wife Rizzo and his three daughters, whom he shared with first wife, Sherri Kramer.
