Zendaya is set to guest star on the second season of Black-ish, PEOPLE can exclusively announce.

The 18-year-old actress and singer will be playing Resheida, a friend of Zoey (Yara Shahidi).

Since Resheida doesn’t have a father, she immediately takes to Emmy nominee Anthony Anderson‘s Dre, agreeing with his belief that all dads should be respected, according to a character description from ABC.

The former Disney star, who’s a producer on K.C. Undercover, made her mark in TV at an early age – in late 2009, Zendaya auditioned for Disney’s Shake It Up and starred in the show alongside Bella Thorne. After signing with Hollywood Records, the teen began working on her first solo album quickly and became one of the youngest contestants ever to appear on Dancing with the Stars.
