When fandoms collide!

Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner will be joining the cast of X-Men: Apocalypse, director Bryan Singer confirmed on Twitter on Thursday.

While Sansa Stark is definitely a strong character in her own right, we wouldn’t mind watching Turner, 18, suit up and unleash some mind-control powers on her enemies.

Also announced was the casting of Alexandra Shipp as Storm and Tye Sheridan as Cyclops.

Shipp, 23, is best known for her titular role in Lifetime’s Aaliyah biopic, and Sheridan, 18, is best known for his role as Steve in the Oscar-nominated 2011 film Tree of Life.

Apocalypse, which begins filming in Montreal in April, is a sequel to X-Men: Days of Future Past and will focus on the origins of our favorite mutants.

James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence and Evan Peters will all reprise their Days of Future Past roles in the next installment of the franchise, and Oscar Isaac will play the supervillain Apocalypse.
