After seasons at the center of the drama on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Brandi Glanville‘s exit isn’t exactly surprising.

The former model and mom of two won’t return as a regular cast member, PEOPLE confirmed Thursday. The news comes after Glanville fought with costars Kyle Richards, Lisa Vanderpump, Eileen Davidson and Lisa Rinna throughout season 5.

“Brandi got too big for her britches. She was a diva, and it came around to bite her,” a source tells PEOPLE. “By the end, she couldn’t get along with anyone, and no one wanted to shoot with her.”

The feeling may have been mutual. During filming, Glanville, 42, often expressed her frustration at what she saw as hypocrisy. For example, The Housewives criticized her drunken behavior but encouraged one another to eat marijuana cakes in Amsterdam. And the ladies were shocked when Glanville randomly tossed white wine on Davidson at dinner but rallied around Rinna when she threw and broke a wine glass on Kim Richards.

“I’m sick of the lectures, I’m sick of the bulls— that everyone can say whatever they want and take punches at me and say I drink too much and say do a cleanse,” she told Foster, sobbing, in one episode. “I can’t speak my mind freely, but you guys all can? It’s bulls—.”

Glanville’s biggest allies also aren’t coming back full-time: Kim Richards, 50, is in rehab and pleaded not guilty to criminal charges from an alcohol-fueled April incident at the Beverly Hills Hilton, and Foster, 51, needs a break while she continues to battle Lyme disease.

Another source tells PEOPLE the show won’t be the same without Glanville: “To be fair, she brings drama, and viewers love to hate her, so in a way she will be missed.”

A rep for Glanville had no comment.
