The Real Housewives of New York City‘s latest, season 8 addition Julianne “Jules” Wainstein has officially made her reality television debut – and already fallen victim to a Bethenny Frankel zinger. While the ladies may speculate on her weight this season, Wainstein, 35, has bigger things to tackle – like corralling her two children (Rio, 8, and Jagger, 5) with husband Michael and running her business. It doesn’t seem like Wainstein will quake in the presence of Dorinda Medley or Sonia Morgan. In fact, the stylish star says she lives for time in the spotlight. Here’s more on that, and five other things you should know about Wainstein. 1. She’s the president of her own beverage company. Another New Yorker in the liquid refreshment department! In partnership with Cloe Flower, a composer and musician, Wainstein created a Japanese “superdrink” called Modern Alkeme, which is available at Whole Foods grocery stores. The Green Tea Clearing Tonic includes “earth’s most potent detoxifiers packed into a little black bottle,” according toe the Modern Alkeme website. Ingredients include everything from lemon juice and in to Japanese honey and dandelion. 2. Her life-long dream was to be on a reality show.Bravo’s new addition has been eyeing the small screen for quite some time. Winston told the New York Post that her “whole life, everyone said, ‘You need your own reality show.’ ” She continued, “But I never thought it would actually happen. It’s still like a dream.” And Wainstein is definitely going to be at home among the likes of Medley and Morgan: “I love attention,” she shared. “I kind of get high off of taking risks. So I couldn’t say no.” 3. She’s a modern Orthodox Jew. Winston, whose mother is Japanese and father is Jewish, told the Post that her family of four is “kind of modern Orthodox.” “We are very traditional,” she said. “Even if we don’t have challah wherever we are, we always have a hot dog bun or cracker. Or if we don’t have Manischewitz, we’ll use Gatorade. Whatever works, we make it happen. It’s all about just having the family together.” 4. She has an degree from FIT.Wainstein has already earned Ramona Singer‘s stamp of approval – and that’s maybe because they share the same alma mater. According to Bravo, Wainstein also attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York Post-grad, she became an assistant buyer and designer at a boutique fashion company in the city’s SoHo neighborhood before transitioning to event planning. 5. Dorinda got her on the show. Medley is the link between Wainstein and the RHONY universe. The Upper East Sider wrote in her Bravo blog that Medley first introduced her to the group. The pair first met at a wedding five years ago, according to the Post. “She called me up one day, and she was like, ‘Would you be interested in being a Housewife?’ For me, it was kind of perfect timing,” Wainstein said. And the rest is officially small screen history. The Real Housewives of New York City airs Wednesdays (9 p.m. ET) on Bravo.
