Wheel of Fortune's Vanna White Reveals the Only Argument She's Ever Had with Pat Sajak
Vanna White has appeared alongside Pat Sajak on Wheel of Fortune for the past 38 years
White, 63, made a virtual appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show Tuesday and revealed a disagreement she had with Sajak, whom she referred to as her "work husband."
"We've been together all these years. We've never had one argument — okay we had one. It was over putting ketchup on a hot dog. Do you put ketchup on your hot dog?" she asked Barrymore, who replied that she prefers mustard.
"Okay, all right," White said. "Well, anyway, that's what he said. 'You do not put ketchup on your hot dog!'"
Sajak has been hosting Wheel of Fortune, the longest-running syndicated game show in the U.S., since 1982. White joined him as a letter turner that same year, and the pair have been the face of the popular program ever since.
In November of 2019, however, Sajak had to undergo emergency surgery, leaving White to take over his hosting duties for several weeks.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the time, White said she "didn't have a chance to prepare" for her solo debut and was "very nervous."
"I literally had a 30-minute rehearsal of hosting the game. I did one, and then we did the shows! I'm very green, let's put it that way," she joked. "I think for listening to Pat for 37 years, I understood the game and how he hosted it. I was very familiar with the show."

She continued, "I just wanted it to go smoothly. I wasn't sure it was going to. I'm very shy, and I prefer being behind the scenes, not the center of attention. It was awkward in one way. But I did it. I did 15! I was on for three weeks of shows."
White added that at the end of the day, Sajak's wellbeing was most important.
"My biggest concern was Pat's health," she said. "I was so worried, and it was so strange being on the set without him. I've never been on the set without him in 37 years, but the staff and crew were so supportive and made me so comfortable and helped me in every way. Everybody was so supportive. I had a few minor mistakes, but nothing that affected the game."
