Everything Kourtney Kardashian Has Said About Her Kids Appearing on 'KUWTK'

"I think we'll take it season by season with Mason," Kourtney Kardashian told PEOPLE in 2011

It’s been nine years since Kourtney Kardashian became a mother — and now, fans are “keeping up” with her kids!

Kim Kardashian recently revealed that Kourtney’s 9-year-old son Mason has filmed confessionals of his own on the family’s reality TV series.

When a fan asked Kim, 38, if her daughter North, 5, ever asks to do interviews on E!’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the mother of three said that her eldest child’s time hasn’t come just yet.

“Not yet but soon you will see Mason do them,” she said of Kourtney’s firstborn.

She also revealed that Khloé Kardashian will be interviewing Mason for the soon-to-be-seen confessionals: “Instead of a producer asking questions @khloekardashian is doing it. I haven’t seen them yet but heart they are so funny & heart warming.”

You can say Mason was born to be on TV.

Kourtney, 39, learned she was pregnant on season 1 of Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami, and the cameras captured her sisters’ reactions to the surprising news — and her first sonogram, with then-boyfriend Scott Disick by her side.

“I don’t know if I’m ready to have a baby, but I think that everything does happen for a reason and that this was put in my life for a reason that I may not know,” she said on the show.

On Dec. 14, 2009, the couple became first-time parents to Mason. Months later, the birth was broadcast during the season 4 KUWTK finale, when fans learned that Kourtney had pulled him out herself while in labor.

“The experience was so indescribable and life-changing, and I can’t believe he’s all mine,” she said at the time.

The entire event was filmed by Disick, 35, on his personal video camera, with nearly every family member present as they watched Kourtney give birth to Mason.

The much-talked-about moment is arguably among the top KUWTK scenes in the 16 seasons of the popular E! series. In fact, Khloé has mentioned it several times on the show.

“Kourtney just loves to pull out her own children,” she said during the season 7 finale in 2012, when the older sister also helped with the delivery of her second child, daughter Penelope Scotland, on July 8, 2012. (The 2014 birth of son Reign — who was also born on Dec. 14, like Mason — was not televised.)

In October 2016, Kourtney told Australia’s Today Extra that she wouldn’t let the KUWTK camera crew in the delivery room when she gave birth to Mason.

“Scott was filming it for our own purposes, like for a home movie. The birth of my son was such a beautiful experience that I really wanted to share it with people because it was my child. I remember being so terrified to give birth because you see in movies everyone is screaming and it was so crazy and my experience was amazing. I just felt something in me wanted to share that with people,” she said.

A newborn Mason was frequently seen on Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami season 2. In the final episodes, Kourtney even left Scott, taking the baby with her, following his drunken escapades.

But nearly a year after Mason’s birth was televised, Kourtney announced that her spin-off Kourtney & Kim Take New York would be Mason-free.

“You’re not going to see Mason,” Kourtney told PEOPLE in January 2011. “Scott and I decided not to have him on the show this season.”

Kourtney said at the time that she was “weirded out to have [Mason] on camera,” and added that “he can’t make the decision if he wants to be involved in this craziness or not.”

Once the show — which aired Jan. 23, 2011 — concluded filming, the first-time mommy had no regrets about keeping Mason, then 1, away from all the cameras.

“I think we made a good decision to leave him off the show because it was really crazy and really hectic any time we left the hotel,” she explained. “There was massive paparazzi, so we tried to keep him as protected as possible.”

Still, she admitted that his TV hiatus wasn’t a permanent decision.

“I think we’ll take it season by season with Mason,” she said. “We’ll see how it goes and how we’re feeling at the time.”

Since then, Kourtney has evidently become more comfortable with allowing Mason, as well as her and Disick’s second and third children — daughter Penelope, 6, and son Reign, 4 — to be on television.

In fact, Kourtney and Disick, who ended their nine-year relationship in July 2015, have used their story to show fans a positive co-parenting relationship.

“I can show a message of ‘Parents can get along and work together’ and we travel together,” she said in February on the Today show. “I think it’s a good message to show other people. I’m not doing it for that reason but I think the positive we are doing is nice to [show].”

Although they’ve had their differences, they’ve always prioritized their family.

“Kourtney and Scott are friends and co-parents. They have a very good relationship, so it’s not strange that they are together with the kids,” a source previously told PEOPLE about Kourtney and Disick, who is dating Sofia Richie. “They want the kids to feel like they are still a family and can have fun together.”

While audiences have stayed up-to-date with the famous family throughout the past 15 seasons of KUWTK, Kourtney also frequently posts photos and updates of her adorable children on social media.

In celebration of Mother’s Day 2017, Kourtney shared a sweet photo of herself alongside her brood and gushed about being their mother.

“I thank God every morning for these three little angels who changed my heart forever,” she captioned the smiling photo. “I feel incredibly blessed to be their mommy. Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers raising our future.”
