Wells Adams Surprises Girlfriend Sarah Hyland with a Bachelorette-Style Birthday Date

Sarah Hyland is celebrating her birthday (and Thanksgiving) with the one she loves most.

The Modern Family actress, who turns 27 on Friday, shared the early birthday surprise she received from her boyfriend, The Bachelorette alum Wells Adams on her Instagram story on Thursday — a sweet trip to Catalina Island near Los Angeles via a helicopter ride.

Right before the trip, however, Hyland warned her followers of “annoyingly cute” Instagram videos that she would be posting, saying, “Wells surprised me with a birthday trip. It was awesome.”

The actress couldn’t hide her excitement however, as she shared a photo of herself and Adams grinning, with the caption, “This one. (@wellsadams) SURPRISED ME with a helicopter ride to Catalina to celebrate my birthday early and… I can’t. I’m all gushy.”

While she attempted to speak and be heard over the noise of the helicopter’s engine and propellers, Hyland settled for taking photos of herself and Wells, writing, “The cutest ever @wellsadams,” in the caption.

The trip was a success as Hyland ended the story with a sweet photo of herself and Adams, 33, posing in front of the helicopter and smiling with their arms around each other.

“Ok I think I’m Done with the gush for now,” she wrote.

On Tuesday, the duo attended a Los Angeles Lakers game at the Staples Center and took full advantage of the arena’s concessions, with Adams seen sipping a beer and both of them enjoying a pizza while watching the game.

Hyland also documented the night on her Instagram story, sharing selfies with her beau, who joked, “I thought hanging out with Sarah would mean I’d get better seats,” before the actress panned to show them practically on the court.

The duo first flirted on Twitter in 2016 but didn’t get together until recently. After dressing up in a couple’s Stranger Things costume for Halloween, they’ve been spending time together in his home base of Nashville, documenting their adventures on Snapchat and Instagram.
