The Twitter Bug: “I don’t like standing up there,” Maurice Greene admitted after he and partner Cheryl Burke were saved on Wednesday’s show. “I call this day ‘D-Day’. It’s like the Grim Reaper comes around.” And despite being a judges’ favorite, Toni Braxton had to sweat it out for most of the telecast. “It’s so difficult!” she gasped, “I’m not used to being judged like that! My heart was beating through my chest, and I think that it may have stopped for a second.” Celeb chef Rocco DiSpirito also admitted he and partner Karina Smirnoff were “both scared to death.” “At this point, I’m 100 percent invested in this,” he said, “but we have to do something different, I’m tired of being terrified every show.”

Bittersweet Farewell: Following his elimination on Wednesday’s Results Show, Ted McGinley did his best to console his distraught dance partner Inna Brayer, all the while taking his ouster in stride. “I knew that it was inevitable, at least today I did,” the Married with Children actor admitted, “I felt like it was my time. When you walk through the lot, and no one really can look you square in the eyes, it’s like, ‘Oh no! Really? Is it my turn to go?’ McGinley then laughed and deadpanned, “You know what, I’m just bitter. And they’re going to have a hard time getting me back in here, only because the food’s not so good.” The caveat? “If Rocco is whipping up something, then I’ll come back.” Pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy summed up Ted’s DWTS downfall best: “He’s a great guy, but he turned out to be too calm and reserved, and this show needs a little bit of passion and fire. In the end… We needed to see the animal inside Ted McGinley.”

Jo Bro on Tap: During the taping of the Jonas Brothers’ performance of their latest single, “Lovebug”, Joe Jonas showed off a new skill: tap dancing! Joe got up mid-song and joined in on a little tap number with Dancing pros Mark Ballas and Derek Hough. The Jo Bro held his own with the pros, but not without a little prodding–and some help. “Joe wasn’t sure that he wanted to do the little ‘tap’ thing with us,” Hough said after the show, “he was like, ‘I’m not sure I want to dance next to you guys, because you guys are professional dancers.’ But we were like, ‘C’mon, man! Let’s just go out there, tap our feet a little bit, and have some fun.’ We taught him a little ‘tap-tap-step,’ and that was it. I thought he did an amazing job.”

We Adore Us Some Cloris: A “Crazy Cloris” fan club is emerging amongst the cast and crew for the oldest contestant on the show, Cloris Leachman. “She’s a wild card,” said judge Carrie Ann Inaba, “I actually see a look of genuine fear in Tom’s Bergeron eyes when she’s out there.” She said of the usually unflappable host, “When Cloris came and sat on my lap during Monday’s show, Tom had a look on his face that I’ve never seen before. He was confused, dazed, shocked, frightened (laughs). It’s kind of nice to see Tom Bergeron walking on the edge of out of control.”

But as long as Leachman is on the show, it seems all the men had better watch out. “She’s actually going after me,” Chmerkovskiy revealed. “She sat in my lap today during the dress rehearsal. I was just sitting there. I was petrified.” Chmerkovskiy added, “I was surprised that she and Corky Ballas survived, but she keeps things so entertaining that I almost want her to stay until the point where it’s her or us. Then she has to go.”

More from Inside the Ballroom: •Kim Kardashian‘s step-dad Bruce Jenner talking to a reporter backstage, saying he’d do the show “in a heartbeat!” His dance cred? “I was voted the best dancer in high school,” Jenner boasted. • Despite being one of the four celebs sweating til the very end, Cody Linley wasn’t about to show his nerves. During a commercial break, the Hannah Montana star spent his time making shadow puppets on the dance floor. With a spotlight behind him, and partner Julianne Hough at his side, Linley conjured up a makeshift shadow dog, which proceeded to chomp away at his partner’s head. •Last season’s surprise survivor Marissa Jaret Winokur, flashing pictures of her new baby to just about anyone in the ballroom. –Reagan Alexander
