Vicki Gunvalson’s mystery ailment has been identified and dealt with by doctors, and the Real Housewives of Orange County star is out of the hospital.

“I am doing much better,” Gunvalson, 48, tells PEOPLE in a statement. “I was released from the hospital Friday afternoon after the doctors performed a colonoscopy and found several ulcers in the colon that they were able to fix and stop the bleeding.”

She had been hospitalized Thursday after experiencing gastrointestinal problems.

Gunvalson says her daughter Briana was “by my side the entire time,” and that her husband Donn – from whom she recently filed for divorce after 16 years of marriage – was at the hospital with her as well.

Gunvalson said she was planning to return to work on Monday morning.
