TV Roundup: Young, Rich and Oh-So-Watchable
• Oh, that’s just rich: Following up on the success of Gossip Girl, The CW unveiled a new schedule with shows focused around wealthy teens, including the 90210 spinoff and Surviving the Filthy Rich with Reba’s JoAnn Garcia.
•Shark finally bit the big one. CBS axed the drama, along with Moonlight, while Rules of Engagement, among other comedies, were renewed. Seems like somebody over there is laughing.
• Ladies, start swooning: George Clooney may be coming back to the tube. And no, he’s not returning to ER. The hearthrob is one of many big names reportedly working on projects with Turner Entertainment, the parent company of TBS, TNT and TruTV.
• Trek to the store or just sit in front of the computer–that’s the option HBO is giving viewers who want to purchase episodes of their hit shows, including Sex and the City and The Sopranos. Individual episodes can be purchased for less than three bucks on iTunes. With growing gas prices, here’s just one more reason to be a couch potato.
