Tuesday's DWTS: What You Didn't See

Marie shows off her “badge of honor,” Wayne says “danke” for the memories and more…

Show and Tell: Marie Osmond has been working hard and she can prove it. During a commercial break, Osmond lifted her skirt to show Sabrina Bryan a huge bruise she earned while practicing the death spiral maneuver for the Viennese Waltz. Bryan visibly gasped when she saw the large purple “badge of honor” on Osmond’s left hip and upper thigh.

Danke Schoen: Sure he was eliminated from the competition last week, but that didn’t create sour grapes for singer Wayne Newton. The Vegas legend couldn’t resist coming back to the ballroom one more time to say thanks for the memories–as a singer. “This time is much better. I’m much more relaxed doing what I’m very comfortable doing,” Newton told PEOPLE. He performed his signature tune during the show’s pre-taped segment while his former partner Cheryl Burke and her season two partner Drew Lachey danced. He’ll Be Back: It’s the general consensus that the former 98 Degrees singer did a bang-up job filling in for Samantha Harris for three weeks. Lachey tells PEOPLE that he’s grateful for the positive response he’s received from fans. “I’m flattered that enjoyed it. I enjoyed doing it. But as far as I’m concerned, DWTS is Sam’s world.” But fans who want Lachey back are in luck: He scored a solo hosting gig on the spin-off Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann, which is slated to air in January. “This was great experience for me. I got to learn from one of the best in the business with Tom Bergeron. It’s been a fun experience. Now I’m focusing long term on Dance War.”

Home Alone?: It was host Samantha Harris‘s second night back at work after giving birth three-and-a-half weeks ago to daughter Josselyn. Hubby Michael Hess was in the audience, which prompted audience comedian Cory Almeida to ask, “Samantha, where’s the baby? Home alone?” For the record, baby Josselyn was in good hands, enjoying an evening at home with Harris’s mother-in-law.–Monica Rizzo
