Todd Chrisley Opens Up About Family Drama – and That $45 Million Bankruptcy
The Chrisley Knows Best star tells PEOPLE, "The family is all good. We're all very blessed"
Todd Chrisley hasn’t been a household name for very long, but the father of five has already seen his fair share of drama since stepping into the spotlight.
“It’s always hard when you have uncomfortable, unfortunate situations occur in your life,” the businessman and new reality star tells PEOPLE. “But the family is all good, we’re all very blessed.”
Shortly after his reality show, Chrisley Knows Best, premiered in March – the series captures Chrisley’s lavish lifestyle with wife Julie and the couple’s children in their 30,000-sq.-ft. Atlanta mansion – documents surfaced from Chrisley’s 2012 bankruptcy filing, revealing precarious finances despite extravagant spending habits.
Then, in May, an arrest warrant was issued for Chrisley’s eldest son Kyle over an alleged altercation with the mother of his child.
“He has his struggles,” says Chrisley, who now with wife Julie cares full time for his granddaughter Chloe. “As a family, we all continue to lift him up.”
Despite dealing with the domestic drama and ongoing bankruptcy case – which Chrisley says is “truly in its final phases we’ve moved on from it” – he’s managing to stay positive and focus on the future.
“I’m no different from anyone else,” he says. “I’m no better, I’m no worse. I think that the Lord has given us a second wind. We’re moving forward, and we’re blessed.”
Chrisley Knows Best airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on USA.
