Maybe it’s just a coincidence that many of the most popular shows on Twitter this year feature the kinds of twists and surprise deaths that have viewers Tweeting in mass outrage.

Maybe not.

For 2014, The Walking Dead was the most-Tweeted TV show (#RIPBeth), followed by the reality show hate-watch The Bachelor and the ever-popular Pretty Little Liars, according to the Nielson Twitter TV Ratings.

American Horror Story: Freak Show clocked in at fourth, which is pretty impressive given that the season hasn’t even ended yet, and HBO’s Game of Thrones came in at fifth.

Here’s the rest of the list:

Despite placing ninth, The Voice grabbed the honor of most-Tweeted TV series minute on May 13 when, in the week before the sixth season finale, a whopping 310,000 Tweets were written at 8:59 pm ET to save Team Adam Levine‘s Christina Grimmie from elimination.

Finally, the most-Tweeted TV special, was, naturally, the Oscars. This was no doubt bolstered by host Ellen DeGeneres‘s star-studded selfie, which holds the record for most re-Tweeted Tweet.
