'The Voice' Reveals Top 5

Holly Tucker promises to "hit the ground running" and talks about bonding with her teammates and Blake Shelton

Team Blake’s dominance on The Voice has finally come to an end.

After three weeks of keeping his team intact as his fellow coaches lost contestants during eliminations, Blake Shelton finally said goodbye to one of his three country artists Tuesday night: Baylor University marching band member Holly Tucker.

Tucker, 19, who received high marks for her sassy rendition of Martina McBride’s “When God-Fearing Women Get the Blues” and a heartfelt version of “My Wish” on Monday night, dissolved into tears at the end of the show when the Swon Brothers, also of Team Blake, earned the final spot in the top five.

“I’ve watched myself transform week after week, and that’s made me really proud of what I know God has given me,” Tucker told host Carson Daly before the elimination. “I’m just so thankful to be here.”

Bonded with Teammates

After learning that her time on The Voice had come to an end, an emotional Tucker spoke to reporters about the bonds she’s formed with her teammates.

“We really became like family,” she said, “Especially the Swon Brothers and Danielle [Bradbery]. They are just great people.”

As for her coach, she says, “He is not a man of many words … He was saying that it is going to be okay and that there are good things in the future and that he will continue to work with me.”

She added, “He knows me and my voice really well at this point and he has been able to bring out that confidence in me that a lot of people haven’t. Just knowing that I had his support motivated me to get to this point.”

Tucker plans “to hit the ground running” and hopes to head to Nashville and pursue a career in country music.

Ecstatic They’re Still in the Game

Meanwhile, Shelton’s fellow judges, who each had only one artist in the competition, looked ecstatic that they were all still in the game.

Michelle Chamuel of Team Usher earned the first save of the night, no surprise, considering her version of Taylor Swift‘s “I Knew You Were Trouble” cracked the Top 10 on the iTunes singles’ chart and earned kudos from Swift herself.

Sasha Allen of Team Shakira, who killed with her raw version of “Before He Cheats” that drew comparisons to Beyoncé‘s alter-ego Sasha Fierce, celebrated her birthday with a save, which had coach Shakira beaming and promising “more Sasha Fierce-ness” from Allen in the performances ahead.

And Adam Levine, who memorably lost two contestants last week, collapsed when he learned his only artist, country singer Amber Carrington, was saved.

He also avoided any controversial comments like last week’s “I hate this country” remark that lit up social media. Instead, he simply told Carrington, “I love you,” before she walked off the stage.
