There are big-time casting shake-ups at The View!

Comedian Michelle Collins is officially joining the cast next season after Rosie Perez signs off, the show announced on Monday.

“I am so excited and I feel so lucky that I get to come here and spend this time with you,” Collins said on the air.

She’s especially happy to return to New York City for filming.

“I’m in a Jay Z state of mind at all times,” she joked. “This is my city. I love … I just love drinking here, really.”

And a series of other new hires are coming up as well.

Candace Cameron Bure and Stacy London are both in the mix as possible new co-hosts.

“Candace was fantastic on the show,” a source tells PEOPLE of the Full House alum, who sparred with current co-host Raven Symoné over the topic of gay marriage. “And each of those women bring something really unique to the group.”

Former View co-host Sherri Shepherd may be returning in a new role as a “contributor,” a source says.

“They’re looking for a new way of doing things,” says a well-placed source. “Adding contributors to keep a constant flow of people that you’re familiar with: that way there is consistency, but each of these women bring something different to the table.”

Shepherd appeared on the show last month in her first visit since departing – and dealing with a very public divorce and custody battle with her ex Lamar Sally over her responsibility for their baby born to a surrogate.

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg said Collins will get started this summer and will have a permanent seat when season 19 premieres in September.
