What would Jesus sing?

On Sunday, Fox will air The Passion, a two-hour live, musical event that tells the story of Christ’s final days using the setting of modern-day New Orleans and popular songs.

“It’s an amazing list of songs that come from all genres,” Jencarlos Canela, who plays Jesus, tells PEOPLE. “There’s something for everyone to enjoy.”

Here are a look at the most interesting and surprising songs on the soundtrack:

Perry may be known for her lighthearted, fun party songs, but her ballad about unconditional love will be sung by Canela (as Jesus) and a 50-person choir.

“You’ll be hearing the song in a completely new way,” says Canela. “And the choir is incredible. They take the entire thing to a new level.”

In addition to “Unconditionally”, Canela will be singing Creed‘s “With Arms Wide Open”, Train‘s “Calling All Angels” and more.

Trisha Yearwood

Country singer Trisha Yearwood says she was brought to tears while recording her songs – which she will sing live during Sunday’s telecast – for the soundtrack.

“I’m having to sing songs that I’m going to be singing at the foot of the cross, and I had to be thinking about what was happening in the story when I was singing the song,” says Yearwood. “I got very emotional, which is not the norm for me in the studio.”

As Mary, the mother of Jesus, Yearwood will sing Houston‘s “My Love Is Your Love”, Mraz‘s “I Won’t Give Up”, Jewel‘s “Hands”, Lifehouse’s “Broken” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone” from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel.

The disciple Judas may end up betraying Jesus, but that doesn’t mean the two can’t sing together!

As Judas, American Idol alum Chris Daughtry will duet on Imagine Dragon‘s “Demons” with Canela.

“He’s got an amazing voice,” Canela says of Daughtry, who will also sing Evanescence‘s “Bring Me to Life”.

As the Judaean politician who sentences Jesus Christ to death, singer Seal will duet with Canela on Tina Turner‘s “We Don’t Need Another Hero”.

“It’s a dream come true for me to do a duet with Seal,” says Canela. “Not everyone can say they’ve done that.”

Seal will also perform a haunting version of Gary Jules’ “Mad World”.

Latin recording artist Prince Royce (as the disciple Peter) will sing Hoobastank‘s “The Reason” and duet with Canela on Phillip Phillips‘ “Home”.

He will join the rest of the cast on Céline Dion‘s “Love Can Move Mountains”.

The Passion soundtrack – which also features Yolanda Adams singing David Guetta and Kelly Roland‘s “When Love Takes Over” – is now available on iTunes. Versions with special bonus tracks are available at Target and Walmart.

The Passion will air Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
