The Office Creator Reveals a Reunion 'Is More Likely Now,' but There Are 'No Plans' at the Moment
The Office was recently removed from Netflix and made available for streaming on NBC’s Peacock
The Office fans, rejoice!
Greg Daniels, the creator of the beloved sitcom, has teased a possible reunion of The Office cast following the migration of the show from Netflix to NBCUniversal’s streaming service, Peacock.
“I think it’s probably more likely now that the show is on Peacock, but no plans right now certainly,” Daniels told E! News.
“People are more open to it now it seems,” he added. “The issue is — what is left to be said about the characters?”
The Office debuted in March 2005 and ran for nine seasons before it officially went off the air in May 2013.
The series followed Steve Carell as Michael Scott, the bumbling, usually well-meaning-yet-clueless manager of Dunder Mifflin paper company, and the rest of his employees in their day-to-day operations and antics.
When asked about what a potential reunion would look like, Daniels said “there’s been some talk” of a one-off special, much like the upcoming HBO Max Friends reunion.
He added that it may be difficult to figure out where to pick up the storyline, since the show’s final episode featured a jump to the future and many of the characters were shown no longer working at Dunder Mifflin.

“The weird thing about that is when we ended it, we jumped forward a year and a lot of them aren’t working there anymore,” Daniels said.
“It would be fun to find some lost episodes and shoot them as if they were back in 2010 or something,” he added.
All nine seasons of The Office were formerly on Netflix before leaving the streaming platform at the end of 2020. The series will now be available for streaming on Peacock for five years, according to a recent press release.
Along with all 201 episodes, Peacock confirmed that several extras and exclusives from The Office would be available on their streaming platform.
