T.J. Lavin is not going to like this.

In an exclusive clip from this week’s episode of MTV’s The Challenge: War of the Worlds, veteran player Hunter Barfield threatens to leave the game after a poor performance in that week’s challenge, in which he was apparently paired with Mattie Lynn Breaux.

“Of all the things that I’ve been through in this game, I feel like today was the straw that broke the camel’s back,” he says in confessional. “Even when something’s in my wheelhouse to win I can’t get the job done with the strongest girl in the house, so I’m ready to go home.”

Not surprisingly, Hunter’s ally this season, Wes Bergmann, is trying to talk him out of his decision. “I have made an investment in Hunter,” he explains.

Still, Hunter tells Wes, “I’m done. I’m just done.” Later, he adds, “I have no fight left in me.”

Host T.J. Lavin famously hates when people quit the show — and he’ll surely have plenty to say if a competitor like Hunter bails. But is he really going to leave?

The Challenge: War of the Worlds airs on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.
