The stars are dishing on the difference a decade makes before their special Disney Channel reunion. “It was such a whirlwind it felt like we were swept up into this vacuum,” said Vanessa Hudgens, who was flanked by her former costars Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu and Monique Coleman on Tuesday’s Good Morning America. She added, “At one point it literally felt like we were the Beatles.” “Everywhere we went people knew exactly who we were,” explained Tisdale, 30. “And now it’s like we could go to the coffee store and we’re completely left alone,” continued Hudgens, 27. “It feels like a different life.” RELATED VIDEO: Ashley Tisdale Talks Girls Nights with Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez The Disney Channel original movie first premiered on Jan. 26, 2006, and broke telecast records for the network. It later spawned two sequels, one of which was released in movie theaters. Save for star Zac Efron, 28, who will appear in a pre-taped message, the cast will chat about their time as Wildcats in a decked out Los Angeles high school gym for this week’s Disney special. So how else have the East High School students changed since the trilogy wrapped? “For me, I kind of embrace the ‘I want it all’ of Sharpay and I’m doing it all,” Tisdale shared. And Grabeel, 31, has finally accepted that side of the actress: “I hated her through a lot of the first movie. I love Ashley so much more now.” RELATED VIDEO: Check Out Zac Efron’s Changing Looks! Bleu, 26, called the experience life-changing and said the reunion was an emotional one. “Just to come back into this room and to see everyone again and go ‘Oh my gosh, we were all part of this together, we made this incredible magic happen together,’ ” he explained. You heard it straight from the stars’ mouths: They really were all in this together. The Disney Channel telecast will air Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
