A first look at the three-part reality special released exclusively by E! gives viewers a glimpse into the family’s life at home while matriarch Teresa, 43, is in prison. The spinoff, which is titled The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In, is set to premiere in October. In the sneak peek, cameras follow Teresa’s husband Joe at home with their four daughters: Gia, 14, Gabriella, 10, Milania, 9, and Audriana, 6 – and Mr. Mom certainly seems to have his hands full with all the ladies. At one point, a confused Joe asks his eldest daughter Gia what’s on her face. “A pimple? Yeah, I’m a teenager,” Gia retorts. “He’s like, pretty good,” Gia also says in the clip. “He helps out, he tries his best, but I mean, it’s rough without my mom there.” “It’s hard keeping up with all these kids, I’m doing a lot,” says Joe, 45, in an on-camera interview. “I think I’ve even lost about 10 pounds.” Despite her prison sentence, which began Jan. 5, Teresa is still an important part of the household and the clip features several snippets of her calls to her family. “Oh please, God, bring me home to my family as soon as possible and bless my four daughters and my husband. Amen,” says Teresa at one point over the phone. “Girls, say ‘Amen!’ ” “It’s amazing how she just still controls everything from in there, you know what I mean?” Joe says. When Teresa is freed, Joe will head to prison for his own 41-month sentence for the fraud charges – and a concurrent 12 months for failing to file a federal tax return in 2004. Since he is not a U.S. citizen, he faces possible deportation when he finishes his prison term. The clip touches on Joe’s fears of being sent back to Italy, with the family’s lawyer James J. Leonard Jr. asking, “If God forbid you had to go, do you see Teresa and the girls moving to Italy with you?” The show also will also star Teresa’s brother Joe Gorga and her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga. “I think that we are strong as a family,” Melissa told PEOPLE in July. “I think the kids are doing very well, better than we all thought.” “We haven’t let it break us and we won’t let it break us,” she added. The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In premieres Oct. 11 (8 p.m. ET) on Bravo.
