Entertainment TV 'Teen Mom OG' 's Maci Bookout & Husband Taylor McKinney Seek Marriage Counseling Less Than a Year After Tying the Knot Eight months after saying, "I do," Maci Bookout and her husband Taylor McKinney are seeking marriage counseling By Alexia Fernández Published on June 5, 2017 10:00 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Less than a year after saying, “I do,” Maci Bookout and her husband Taylor McKinney are seeking marriage counseling. While their relationship does not appear to be on the rocks, Bookout did admit to a friend on Monday’s episode of Teen Mom OG that things have been stressful lately. “Obviously, having three kids is catching up to us,” she tells her friend Keelie. “Eighty-five percent of the time, we’re good to go. The rest of the 15 percent, it’s hell. It’s like all of our stress and emotion and everything … we take it out on each other.” Bookout and McKinney married in a private ceremony in Florida on Oct. 8, 2016. The couple shares two children together: daughter, Jayde, and son, Maverick. They are also raising Bookout’s 8-year-old son Bentley from her previous relationship with ex-boyfriend Ryan Edwards. Bookout, 25, revealed on the episode that not all was perfect behind the scenes. “When the cameras leave, we’ll drink and freak out,” she said. “It’s always like, literally, the smallest things.” Keelie suggested marriage counseling, pointing out that not all couples who seek help are in danger of ending their relationships. MTV During therapy, the two sought help with methods of communication, especially after rough weeks of parenting three children under the age of 10. “All of the little things build up because neither of us ever communicate them,” Bookout told their counselor. “Then all of a sudden, we’re mad and we don’t even know why we’re mad.” “We just get snippy with each other a lot more often,” McKinney adds. After talking out their problems, Bookout admitted that she doesn’t need much to feel appreciated. “To be honest with you, he could go the rest of our lives and never tell me ‘thank you’ or ‘you’re awesome,’ ” she said. “Just grab my ass every now and then and give me a kiss.” MTV Another couple on the show undergoing their own problems were Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra. The two struggled with not knowing when they’d get their yearly visit with their first daughter, Carly. At the time of filming, the two revealed they hadn’t seen Carly since 2015 — the time of their wedding — and admitted that it was incredibly difficult to not know how she was doing. “I just have to know,” Tyler said of receiving updates about Carly. “‘Did you hear anything, did you hear anything?'” MTV The two spoke to Dawn, their adoption counselor, about naming a foundation after her, called The Carly House, meant to provide single teenage mothers a safe place to stay during their pregnancy. “I’ve asked [Teresa, Carly’s adoptive mom] about a visit,” Catelynn told Dawn. “She hasn’t responded.” Tyler added, “It’s been a while [since we’ve seen her]. Kids grow fast. That’s like a totally different person two years from now.” FROM PEN: The Today Show Moms Open Up About Dealing With ‘Mom Guilt’: ‘It’s Real’ The two fellow moms in the episode also faced their own share problems. Amber Portwood struggled with not spending as much time as she’d like with her daughter, Leah, and Farrah Abraham changed her plans to move to San Diego, deciding Los Angeles would be the better option since her businesses are located there — and because the dating scene appealed to her more. Teen Mom OG airs Mondays (9 p.m. ET) on MTV.
