Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger may now be sharing the screen, but back in the ’80s there used to be no camaraderie between these movie muscle men.

Stallone stopped by The Tonight Show on Thursday to share just how far the actors’ old rivalry went.

“I wanted to strangle him,” the Rocky actor cracked.

Fortunately, these urges have subsided, and Stallone has only nice things to say about the former California governor.

“I think he’s brilliant, what he’s done, and what he’s accomplished. He’s had three different careers,” Stallone said of Schwarzenegger.

This has to make life on movie sets a little easier for the pair. Over the past decade, Stallone, 68, and Schwarzenegger, 67, have starred in several movies together. Their most recent, Expendables 3, hits theaters Friday.
