The Tony winner – who stars in TV Land’s Younger – has joined the cast of Netflix’s forthcoming reboot of the popular mother-daughter dramedy, and she couldn’t be more thrilled. “This is where my brain explodes: I go from supernerdy superfan to on-set talking to Lorelai Gilmore,” Foster, 40, says in the current issue of PEOPLE. “It was my favorite show of all time. I was totally obsessed with it. When they told me it got rebooted for Netflix and they were writing a part for me, I texted Lauren Graham and said, ‘We’re finally going to be working together. There will be tears.’ ” For more on Sutton Foster, pick up the new issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands now The actress remains mum as to how her character will fit into Star’s Hollow, but, says Foster, “It’s a smaller part featured in one of the episodes.” The cameo marks a reunion for Foster and Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, who also created Bunheads, the 2012 ABC Family ballet drama in which Foster starred. The actress and writer have remained close since their first collaboration. “We’ve become really good friends, her, her husband Dan [Palladino] and my husband [Ted Griffin] have become really good friends,” says Foster. “The four of us hang out all the time.” Younger airs Wednesdays (10 p.m. ET) on TV Land.
