The Bravo reality star split with Thomas Ravenel in January
“I lost my own identity,” she tells PEOPLE of her relationship with Ravenel. “It’s been a little bit of a shock to lose that part of my life but it’s really refreshing. I am learning who I am, what I like, what I want and enjoy. It s been great.”
The couple share a daughter Kensington, 2, and four-month-old son St. Julen, but Dennis says their rocky relationship ended shortly after the birth of their second child.
“We were still kind of on and off, but we’ve been pretty much done since Julien,” she says. “The phase where Thomas was going to try and make it work right after I had Julien lasted for about a week.”
Now, Dennis says her life is all about her children and making it work.
“It’s hard,” she says. “But I have embraced it. They are so sweet and gentle and pure.”
As for her love life? Dennis isn’t giving up.
“I don’t even know what dating means because I haven’t done it in so long,” she says adding, “but a nice guy recently invited me to dinner. My focus is really on my children, but dating is definitely an option.”
