Saturday Night Live

Not all squads are created equal.

Some squads are deeper and some squads are doper than their Top 40 counterparts. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler don’t roll with models and starlets.

As they demonstrated while hosting this weekend’s Saturday Night Live, during an equally squad-heavy spin on Taylor Swift‘s “Bad Blood” music video, they roll with a whole other crew. Gynecologists, waitresses and nannies. Gayle King and Robert Downey Sr.

The Most Hilarious Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Moments – Ever

And Aidy Bryant, popping in for a rap solo: “A queen ain’t a queen just for sitting on a throne/ She need a whole damn crew/ She can’t do it alone.”

(And also: “Can’t be MIA from the PTA/Because you’re picking up leche from Trader Jose’s.”)

But Fey and Poehler did seem to pick up a trick or two from Swift’s original video – down to the surprise celebrity cameos and slow-motion apocalyptic strutting.

And, at the end, an, ahem, explosive surprise.
