While the new cast of Dancing with the Stars appeared together for the first time on Wednesday’s episode of Good Morning America, Biles made a surprise appearance that sent the DWTS gymnast running in for hug.
Biles then excitedly handed her pal sparkly high top Converse sneakers that resemble the top prize for DWTS – Hernandez, 16, even scooted over so Biles could share her seat.
While 19-year-old Biles said she would “love to do DWTS, she couldn’t be more excited to support her teammate as she prepares to compete for the Mirrorball Trophy with partner Val Chmerkovskiy.
“It’s really weird because I’ve known her for so long, but every time I see a commercial, I fan girl,” Biles revealed.
Biles also said she and the rest of the Final Five definitely plan to cheer Hernandez on from the sidelines during the live performances.
While Biles is hitting the road with the other Team U.S.A. gymnasts for a tour, she’s also looking forward to some time off.
“To travel and train, there’s just no way I can do 100 percent, so a break is needed,” the gymnast told GMA‘s Robin Roberts.
Things haven’t slowed down for the athlete since getting home from Rio. After a “crazy” homecoming in Houston, Biles appeared with her teammates at the MTV Video Music Awards, snapping a selfie with Kim Kardashian West and presenting an award to Beyoncé.
“You dream of these things for so long and then it happens and you’re like, ‘Oh, what else do I want now?'” she said.
Dancing with the Stars is slated to return Sept. 12 on ABC.
