'I Love, Cherish and Admire You': Shay Mitchell Writes to Troian Bellisario After Missing Wedding

On Saturday night, Shay Mitchell shared a sweet Instagram tribute to her costar and beloved friend Troian Bellisario. The same day, Bellisario married Suits star Patrick J. Adams in southern California.

“To my big sister T on her wedding day,” Mitchell started her message to Bellisario. “I love that we were able to close one very important chapter of our lives together and I am devastated not to be there as you embark on your next one.”

Mitchell continued: “As I sit here thinking about our friendship and journey I am reminded of how much I love, cherish and admire you. I know you and Patrick will have the most special day and I can’t wait to celebrate you two as a married couple. Soak it all in and enjoy this moment…it’s all yours babe #fortday2016inspirit.”

Mitchell and Bellisario became best friends after meeting on the set of the hit Freeform show Pretty Little Liars. The stars — along with costars Sasha Pieterse, Ashley Benson and Lucy Hale — solidified their bond by getting matching tattoos to commemorate their seven years and seven seasons together.

In lieu of receiving gifts on their big day, Patrick and Troian encouraged their 200 guests to donate to the David Suzuki Foundation and SickKids Hospital.

Attendees — including Bellisario and Mitchell’s PLL costars Hale, Benson, Pieterse, Keegan Allen, Ian Harding and Adams’ friend Chris Pine — spent the wedding weekend in glamorous camping tents. The couple drove up to the venue with a group of family and friends in a chic converted school bus with the words “Almost Married” written on the back.

Bellisario wore a white Cortana gown, a headpiece by Amaroq and a veil, according to Hello. Adams wore a navy blue three-piece Ralph Lauren suit.

Leading up to the nuptials, the couple — who were engaged in 2014 — kept all the details on the down low.

“We’re going to make sure that everyone finds out about that long after it happens,” the Suits actor, previously told Entertainment Tonight of their then-upcoming wedding. “That’s kind of our game plan … but obviously we’re both incredibly excited.”

He added: “Once it does, we’ll make sure that the world knows.”

Mitchell wasn’t the only costar to miss out on the wedding — Adams’ Suits costar (and onscreen fiancée) Meghan Markle was spotted in Toronto on the big day.
