Shannen Doherty Documents 'the Many Faces of Cancer' During Another Round of Chemotherapy
The actress revealed in August that her cancer spread to her lymph nodes
Shannen Doherty is undergoing another round of chemo.
The 45-year-old 90210 actress documented her latest visit to the doctor’s office on Tuesday with a behind-the-scenes photo of her receiving an injection.
“The many faces of cancer. Chemo Day. What we call the Red Devil being injected into me via the port that’s in my chest,” Doherty, who is battling breast cancer, captioned a black-and-white photo of herself posted to Instagram.
Donning a headscarf and covered in a blanket, Doherty watched as her nurse, Dawn, administered an injection.
“Dawn is my nurse who takes excellent care of me August 10, 2016 #cancersucks #fightlikeagirl,” she said of her nurse.
On Aug. 23, Doherty enjoyed a girl’s night out with a friend at Nobu in Malibu and celebrated having an appetite ahead of last week’s chemo treatment.
“Love girls night with @annemkortright helping me celebrate feeling good enough to eat before Wednesday’s chemo,” she captioned a photo of the pair with the hashtags, “#bff #fightlikeagirl #cancersucks #warrior.”
The actress revealed in early August that her cancer spread to her lymph nodes: “I had breast cancer that spread to the lymph nodes, and from one of my surgeries we discovered that some of the cancer cells might have actually gone out of the lymph nodes, so for that reason, we are doing chemo, and then after chemo, I’ll do radiation.”
