Entertainment TV Scott Disick Checks into Rehab Again After Being Given 'Ultimatum' About Kids: Source On the heels of his split from Kourtney Kardashian, the troubled reality star seeks help at his friends' urging By Steve Helling Published on October 14, 2015 05:25 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: AKM-GSI Scott Disick is seeking help. The 32-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians star has checked himself into rehab following his recent split from girlfriend of nine years Kourtney Kardashian, PEOPLE has confirmed. The news comes on the heels of Lamar Odom, Khloé Kardashian‘s ex-husband, being hospitalized after he was found unconscious in a Las Vegas-area brothel Tuesday. Disick checked in to Cliffside Malibu, a luxury drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, over the weekend, a source tells PEOPLE. Another source says Disick made the decision after receiving an ultimatum from Kardashian about being able to see their kids: Mason, 5, Penelope, 3, and Reign, 10 months. “He wants to make it stick this time because he has come close to losing everything,” the source says. However, the source notes that Disick checked in well before Odom was rushed to the hospital and likely doesn’t even know about the former basketball player’s condition: “They don’t want it to interfere with his progress.” On Tuesday, an insider told PEOPLE that the mom of three planned to seek sole custody because “she thinks he is a drunk mess.” Disick and Kardashian, 36, broke up after he was caught partying with Los Angeles-based stylist Chloe Bartoli in Monte Carlo in July. Disick has long struggled with alcohol addiction in the public eye. Numerous KUWTK plot lines have focused on Disick’s excessive drinking and partying, often met with disdain and embarrassment from Kardashian. Sources say his alcohol abuse worsened after the loss of both of his parents in 2013 and early 2014. “He took it incredibly hard and was in a very dark place after it happened,” a friend told PEOPLE. With the addition of a third child to their brood, friends say Disick became overwhelmed. Though he sought treatment earlier this year, sobriety didn’t stick. “Scott insisted that his drinking is under control, that he’s not in a spiral, but everyone around him knows the truth,” a source told PEOPLE. “He has been lying to everyone, saying that he’s clean and sober … and he insists that he doesn’t have a problem.” Reality seems to have set in now that his relationship with Kardashian has imploded. This is his fourth stint in rehab – he checked himself out of prior stays – and friends are hoping the help he gets will endure. But even sobriety may not be enough to repair his relationship with Kardashian. Friends say Disick isn’t convinced he and Kardashian are done for good, but recent images of his belongings being moved into his Beverly Hills house suggest otherwise. Either way, Kardashian will undoubtedly be happy to see her children’s father getting the help he needs. Disick’s problems were creating “a poor environment for her kids to be raised in,” a source told PEOPLE. “Her children are her first priority.”
