Ryan Lochte got emotional on week 5 of Dancing with the Stars.

On Monday’s Most Memorable Year night, the Olympian dedicated his contemporary dance to his mother — and discussed his robbery scandal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Eight years after the gold medalist broke a world record at the 2008 Olympics, — which he highlighted as the most memorable year of his life — he said of the summer 2016 Olympics, “Rio changed my life. With the blink of an eye, it was gone,” Lochte explained of the repercussions of his fabricated robbery story.

Reflecting on the past year, Lochte told pro partner Cheryl Burke during rehearsals, “Everything that has happened, my mom’s stuck right there by my side.”

“I want to dedicate this routine to my mom,” an emotional Lochte told cameras. “This is just a little, little small token to say ‘Thank you mom. Thanks for being you.’ ”

After Lochte performed his week 5 routine with Burke, he ran over to his mother — who sat next to his fiancée Kayla Rae Reid — and gave her a hug and kiss.

A day after the Olympic gold medalist got engaged to his Playboy model girlfriend on Sunday, the athlete quipped to host Erin Andrews of her diamond ring, “Cost a lot!” Reid stood by Lochte and has appeared in the audience during DWTS in previous weeks. Lochte later revealed that he relied on her support during his headline-making scandal and the pair had moved in together.
