Ruth Wilson isn’t here for media speculation about her love life.
The Affair star, 34, recently addressed the rumors about her off-screen relationship with costar Joshua Jackson after the two were spotted enjoying an extended get-together in New York City last month.
“It’s boring gossip,” Wilson told Vanity Fair. “It is boring gossip.”
Wilson, and Jackson, 38, were spotted eating and drinking at Gemma Restaurant in the East Village on Aug. 22. The early meal that turned into a late night for the pals, who posed for photos together and chatted with friends.
“You can tell from that photo that we’re friends,” Wilson. “I just sort of go, ‘All right, well, whatever, I have to keep answering.’ ”
“If you want an answer about whether we’re dating or not, ‘no’ is the absolute truth,” she continued. “We all go out a lot. We’re four Irish-Catholic actors who happen to be on a show together, and that means we like a drink and we like to have a good time. So all four of us go out.”
The actress went on to explain that because she doesn’t flaunt it, speculation often abounds her romantic life.
“People don’t know what goes on in my private life, so they have to make conjecture from something that is photographed,” she said. “You don’t actually know if I’m single or not. You haven’t asked that question, and I haven’t told you that answer. I don’t talk about it.”
Jackson, meanwhile, recently split from longtime girlfriend Diane Kruger after 10 years together. At the time of their breakup, the two vowed to remain friends – and have been spotted spending time together at least two times since.
On Monday, Kruger, 40, enjoyed a night out in New York City with Garrett Hedlund.
The two actors were spotted out and about in Soho, enjoying wine and appetizers at The Butcher’s Daughter before heading to one of the city’s oldest bars, Ear Inn, for a nightcap.
The Affair season 3 premieres Nov. 20 at 10 p.m. ET on Showtime.
