When Stewart – making her first official public appearance since the cheating scandal that rocked their relationship – appeared at the Toronto International Film Festival to promote her new movie On the Road, the crowd cheered, “Kristen, I love you!” After posing for photos in a Zuhair Murad dress with costar Garrett Hedlund, she made her way over to fans to sign autographs. “I’ve loved this book since I was 14,” she told reporters. She also alluded to being as excited for On the Road as she would be for any Twilight film. Pattinson, meanwhile, appeared with Taylor Lautner, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser and other members of the Twilight cast to present a new 90-second clip of Breaking Dawn: Part 2 at the MTV Video Music Awards in downtown L.A. Prior to taking the stage, Pattinson, in an Alexander McQueen black bomber jacket, looked happy as he chatted with his costars backstage, who all seemed thrilled to be together, a source tells PEOPLE. “Reaser seemed to have a very maternal vibe toward him,” the source says of Reaser, who plays his mother in the vampire series. “She stayed very close to him and kept him laughing.” And before introducing the clip, the actor thanked his supporters. “It’s been an amazing journey and we’d like to thank all the fans of the series for your incredible enthusiasm from the beginning until now,” he said onstage.
