Rob Kardashian Spotted Out in Los Angeles for First Time in Months: PHOTO

The television personality has flown under the radar while dealing with emotional issues, sources have told PEOPLE

Rob Kardashian was seen out in Los Angeles on Wednesday after months of keeping a low profile.

The 28-year-old was photographed by X17 behind the wheel of his car, wearing a black T-shirt, while driving in his Calabasas neighborhood.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians personality has stayed out of the public eye recently. His family members have staged interventions to help him work through emotional issues.

“He’s sad, he’s bitter, he’s single. He is very depressed and has been [for a while],” a source told PEOPLE in March.

“It’s really hard for him that his sisters are so public and he looks like the shut-in,” the source added.

In an April interview on the Today show with host Matt Lauer, his older sister Kim Kardashian West, 34, said Rob may just be “going through a phase where he’s not comfortable in his own skin.”

“He is working really hard to get back to where he really wants to be,” Kim said.

Rob also became the focus of conversation on a recent episode of the family reality series, in which mom Kris Jenner claimed he had gained weight over the past year. A source has told PEOPLE it could be a result of depression.

But Kardashian, who is Jenner‘s only son, did speak out to show Caitlyn Jenner, formerly Bruce Jenner, support during her initial reveal about her transition to female.

“You have always been a role model to me and now more than ever, I look up to you. LOVE YOU,” Kardashian Tweeted on April 25.
