Rob Kardashian's Sisters Remain Silent After His Engagement to Blac Chyna as Source Says 'No One Is Jumping Up and Down with Excitement Today'
“No one [in his family] is jumping up and down with excitement today,” a source tells PEOPLE of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. “They have made a united decision as a family to not comment on social media yet about Rob’s engagement. The news is not shocking, and not totally unexpected.”
Kardashian, 29, popped the question Monday night – 10 weeks after he and Blac Chyna, 27, took their relationship public.
“There has been a fear that Blac Chyna is manipulating the situation with Rob,” adds the source. “That he is getting himself into a situation that is not ideal for him. Blac Chyna has been great as kind of a rebound. As someone that got Rob out of a dark place, that helped him get motivated and healthy again. Let’s just be honest, no one is really hoping for a marriage to happen.”
Despite the social media silence, the source says Kardashian has been in contact with family matriarch Kris Jennersince the proposal.
A separate source adds that the couple is aware that a wedding could play well for a potential reality series of their own.
“Rob and Chyna have been thinking of ideas to make an amazing spinoff. An engagement and wedding planning are of course very interesting and would attract viewers,” says the source. “The engagement seems so sudden. It’s hard to take it 100 percent seriously when you know they have been thinking of business ideas to make money.”
According to Blac Chyna’s rep, the star is beyond thrilled with the proposal – and plans to go by her birth name when married.
“She’s soon to be Angela Kardashian. She’s ecstatic,” the rep told PEOPLE Tuesday.
As for Kardashian, he went to work out after a night of celebrating the engagement, with a source telling PEOPLE he “acted very tired and grumpy.”
