Summer is just around the corner, but Tamra Judge is already having some fun in the sun!

To kick off the weekend, the Real Housewives of Orange County star enjoyed some pool time with her granddaughter, Ava, on Friday.

Judge, 49, shared a picture of the duo both wearing sunglasses and lounging in their two-pieces on top of a pool float: grandma sported a turquoise and flowery bikini while Ava donned a little peach suit. (Judge’s son Ryan Vieth and fiancée Sarah Rodriguez welcomed Ava on Feb. 9, 2015.)

“So blessed ….thank you Jesus. #ava,” the Bravo personality captioned the image of the pair soaking up the Orange County sunshine.

Ava, 2, was diagnosed with a kidney condition when she was born, and doctors later determined that it was a multicystic dysplastic kidney.

But despite her health condition, the toddler is doing great.

“She’s happy, she’s healthy, and she’s funny,” Judge told PEOPLE last January. “She’s just so cute!”

“When she was born, there was no sign of a left kidney,” Rodriguez told PEOPLE. “Because it was a non-functioning kidney it kind of just shriveled up, so it hasn’t disappeared but the tissue is too small to be detected by an ultrasound.”

Ava had been getting treatment at a children’s hospital nephrology unit, where she was being monitored every six months to check the functionality and size of her remaining kidney, and as of last year, the prognosis looked very promising.

“Her right kidney is growing to compensate for both kidneys,” said Rodriguez, “so it’s a little larger than the other one, but it’s compensating, which is really good.”

RHOC audiences will see the gym owner and body-building champ — who won her first Muscle Mania competition last May — return for season 12 of the hit Bravo series when it returns next month.

The Real Housewives of Orange County premieres July 10 at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
