Viewers got an inside look at Phaedra Parks’s painful decision to divorce Apollo Nida on Sunday’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

“It was madness all the time. Every day,” a teary Parks confessed to Sarah Jakes, daughter of Bishop T.D. Jakes. “He was always getting into fights. It was nonstop.”

Parks said she tried to support Nida – even when he was sentenced to eight years in prison for fraud – but the never-ending drama was too much.

“For the first time in years, I have peace I can go to sleep knowing he’s not going to hurt himself or anyone around him.”

Parks later met with friend, mentor and attorney Ronnie Kaplan for advice; Kaplan said her pre-nup was “airtight” before asking why she married Nida, who had been in jail before.

“I thought he was a changed man,” said Parks, who said Nida became a partier and “mean-spirited.” “I married him because I knew that he loved me Maybe he was conning me the whole time He’s leaving a trail of madness.”

Meanwhile, NeNe Leakes – who angrily stormed out of a counseling session she organized last week when the wives focused all their bad blood on her – kept right on walking.

“I’ve got two good feet and a car that works, so goodbye,” Leakes told Dr. Jeff Gardere, whom she picked to lead the therapy session. “Your problem is solved.”

A miffed Leakes then told Dr. Jeff, who chased her all the way to her car and begged her to return, “You should lose your license. A good counselor would never allow everyone to drop their garbage in one person’s lap.”

“Have I let you get hurt?” he asked. “Don’t let your anger get the best of you.”

“Don’t hold my arm I’m not angry,” she said before speeding off.

“Why do you think she left?” the doctor asked the wives when he returned.

“It’s like her team or you’re not being loyal to her,” said Kenya Moore, with whom she has long feuded.

But the women began to sort through their own issues following Leakes’s departure – with Porsha Williams receiving apologies from both Claudia Jordan and Moore for past attacks.

“After NeNe left the session, things began to work,” said NeNe’s former BFF Bailey.

At session’s end, the wives made a goodwill video for Leakes.

“It’s so fake we should be saying, ‘You should’ve kept your ass here,’ ” said Kandi Burruss, whose support for Bailey in the counseling session made Leakes flee. “This is why she does stuff to people. They kiss her ass.”

The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sunday (8 p.m. ET) on Bravo.
