RHOA: NeNe Leakes and Cynthia Bailey Have an Emotional Reunion
"I still love you," a tearful Leakes told Bailey, who later rocked New York Fashion Week
Following last week’s disastrous dinner party – which saw NeNe Leakes and Cynthia Bailey pull out the knives instead of burying the hatchet – Sunday’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s meal ended on a sweet note.
“I tried to get over it, but I feel like there are certain lines that must not be crossed,” Bailey told Leakes referring to last season when Leakes called Bailey’s husband Peter Thomas a bitch.
“If you are a real friend, like you claim to be, you’d call up your real friend,” Leakes told Bailey after the other wives had departed dinner to give the former BFFs some alone time. “But you chose to do it in front of everybody else.”
“There was a respect level that wasn’t there,” said Bailey, adding, “NeNe hates to be called out.”
After Leakes apologized, Bailey asked, “Do you think we’ve gone too far? I want to continue to be friends.”
“I just want us to move on,” said Leakes, as the two hugged tightly and cried. “I still love you.”
“For the first time in months, I saw the wall come down,” said Bailey. “I miss NeNe.”
Said Leakes: “You know I love you [but] when people do me wrong, I have trouble letting them get close to me again.”
Bailey certainly moved on – straight to New York Fashion Week.
“Opening or closing a show for New York Fashion Week is everything,” said Bailey, who was asked to close the show of friend and fashion designer Kithe Brewster. But, her confidence was rocked when he questioned her weight and walk.
“I think Cynthia’s had some extra ass put on since we last worked together,” said Brewster. “I don’t know what they do in Atlanta.”
“For Atlanta standards, I’m considered skinny,” said Bailey. “For Fashion Week, I’m considered a curvy girl.”
“We’ll get you a walking stick,” Brewster joked when Bailey strutted slowly, and he had a new model show her how models walk “today”.
But Bailey – with support from Kenya Moore and Kandi Burruss – rocked the runway in red.
“I’m Cynthia Bailey,” she said in celebration after the show had ended, snapping her fingers. “Now, what else is going on?”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
