Entertainment TV Vicki Gunvalson Opens Up About Missing Brooks Ayers: 'I Laid in the Street Crying, Begging Him Not to Go' Ayers cancer diagnosis still managed to dominate Monday's RHOC season premiere By People Staff Published on June 20, 2016 11:20 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: Bravo Brooks Ayers may not appear on this season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, but the controversy surrounding his cancer diagnosis was alive and well on Monday’s season premiere. In an emotional segment, Vicki Gunvalson walked around her lavish home at night – it’s size underscoring the fact that she was single and alone following the split. “I’ve never been alone,” she said. “Dinner for one is not as fun.” She went on to open up about her relationship with Ayers and the night he moved out. “I literally laid in the street crying, begging him not to go,” Gunvalson said. “I’m like, ‘I don’t care about your medical records. I don’t want you to leave. I know you’re sick.’ And he’s like, ‘It’s never going to work.” She went on to reflect on how her support of Ayers alienated her from her fellow Housewives. “I loved Brooks hard to the point where I kind of pissed off some of my friends,” Gunvalson said. “I did not handle things correctly at times, but I want to put it behind me I want to have my friendships back again.” And for once – harmony (almost) reigned supreme on RHOC. Heather Dubrow opened up about how a recent health scare for her husband Terry changed her perspective on things, making her more forgiving. “Life is short and we need to make amends with people,” she told Terry of Vicki. “Everyone deserves a second chance.” RELATED VIDEO: Does Heather Dubrow Think Vicki Gunvalson’s RHOC Friendships Can Be Saved? But not all of the Housewives felt the same – as was revealed during a yacht party thrown by the Dubrows. “There’s nothing Vicki could say for me to restore my friendship with her,” Shannon Beador said. After Heather gave an emotional speech about Terry’s health scare (for the record, he is fine), Shannon’s husband David joked, “It’s almost like having cancer and not really having it.” Gunvalson, who got wind that Shannon and her husband were making snide comments about her, had this to say: “Shannon can kiss my a–. How she’s treating me is really despicable.” But the main event (which will not be resolved until next week) came when Gunvalson asked Heather to speak privately. “I went about everything probably wrong last year and I’m sorry,” Gunvalson told her. “I didn’t want to believe what you guys were saying was true and I was fighting to hang on to something that was slipping through my fingers. I want to ask for forgiveness and ask if we can move on and be friends.” Will the apology be accepted? Judging by the tease for next week’s episode, Heather will have plenty to say (and not all of it will be pretty). The Real Housewives of Orange County airs Mondays (9 p.m. ET) on Bravo.
