But on Wednesday’s new episode, the New York Housewives came together to celebrate the 51-year-old Countess’ new engagement. In an party originally thrown by Ramona Singer – and then oddly co-opted by Dorinda Medley – the ladies gathered together at New York City’s Black Barn restaurant where Singer had attempted to reunite the feuding ladies at her holiday party a few episodes back. While Bethenny Frankel couldn’t make it to the engagement party because she was skiing with her daughter, all the other ladies showed – including former friend Carol Radziwill who had previously avoided the Countess after she labelled Radziwill a “pedophile.” “I just wanted LuAnn to know I was genuinely happy for her that she’d gotten engaged,” the What Remains author explained to viewers, giving de Lesseps a small crystal heart engagement gift. “In addition to saying it I wanted to show it. That my friends is taking the high road.” “I really feel like we’ve gotten over the hump,” de Lesseps said of Radziwill. “I feel like she’s genuinely happy for me, and I’m ready to celebrate the next chapter of my life.” Radziwill wasn’t the only one being the bigger person – all of the Housewives seemed to put their previous hurt feelings towards de Lesseps behind them. “Nothing really matters in the past anymore,” Medley said. “Tonight is just about celebrating LuAnn. We’re happy that she’s engaged, happy that she’s going forward, and let’s not talk about anything in the past anymore because that s— is over.” The ladies gushed as de Lesseps showed off her eight-carat canary yellow diamond ring – which D’Agostino, Jr. picked out after de Lesseps suggested the color. “I have my white diamond sitting in the safe still,” she explained of her previous wedding ring. She also spilled the details of D’Agostino, Jr.’s proposal. “He was going to propose in Vail [Colorado], and I kind of knew it because he was like: ‘This is going to be a trip we’ll never forget’ and I was like: ‘Hmmm okay,’ ” de Lesseps said. After a trip to dinner with his parents, the two returned to their lodge where D’Agostino, Jr. suggested they have a glass of champagne by the fireplace. “He’s got the ring in his pocket, basically. and he was like ‘I just can’t wait – will you marry me?’ ” de Lesseps said. “And he got in front of his knees in front of the fireplace. It was unbelievable. I was freaked out!” RELATED VIDEO: Which Famous Actor Did Countess Luann De Lesseps Share a Kiss With!? “Put away the daggers ladies, ’cause it’s really happening,” de Lesseps joked, adding that she hadn’t been this happy in a long time. Of course, this being RHONY, the daggers were never fully tucked away, with the ladies confessing some back-handed compliments. “LuAnn is definitely enjoying being the center of attention,” Singer explained. “It seems to me LuAnn is more happy with the thought of being in love than actually being in love.” “If anyone deserves to be married it’s LuAnn,” Radziwill said. “She’s a better woman with a man than without a man. She’s very competitive with women and she’s very aggressive with men, and I think she found her place.” “LuAnn is dying to be married – I just want her to be sure because I know Tom and I never thought of him as the marrying type,” Sonja Morgan exclaimed, adding that she wished their New Year’s Eve wedding was going on a little sooner because “by the time we get to New Year’s, Luann can be engaged to another guy.” Now that would be good TV.
