Kandi Burruss Teases RHOA Reunion: NeNe Leakes 'Made Herself the Victim This Year'
Following an exclusive sneak peek at the RHOA reunion, Burruss shares her confusion over Leakes' victim mentality
Surprise: The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion gets heated.
Specifically, Kandi Burruss and NeNe Leakes get into it over some alleged trash-talking on the part of Burruss, who turned the charge around on Leakes. “You were showing us signs that you would blast a person with information that you know about them if y’all are no longer friends,” said Burruss.
Leakes countered, “If you don’t like me, just say it to the world.”
Burruss, however, insisted that it’s not that she doesn’t like Leakes – she doesn’t like her “superior” attitude, “but when you’re fun and you’re laughing and you’re having a good time, I love that.”
As Burruss tells PEOPLE Now, “NeNe made herself the victim this year, like, ‘Oh, Kandi is hating on me.’ ”
However, as she rightly pointed out, “Every year NeNe and I have had some type of words exchanged, whether it’s on the show or off the show.”
Continued Burruss, “We’ve never really had a great relationship until her and Cynthia [Bailey] stopped being friends, then it was cool to be okay with me and Phaedra [Parks]. So, for me, it’s like, she’s never really been our friend, so why are you talking about me to her?”
Leakes and Parks bonded over the latter’s recent split from husband Apollo Nida, who is currently serving an eight-year sentence for fraud in a Kentucky prison.
“My son was heartbroken when my husband left my home,” Leakes tells Burruss in the RHOA reunion special. “We connected on that level.”
Despite Leakes’ insistence that they never actually talked about Burruss during their bonding sessions, Burruss, apparently, is not convinced.
Part one of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion special airs Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
