While on a girl’s trip to Tokyo, Japan, the ladies scarfed down McDonald’s Big Macs, french fries, and apple pies — food they were excited to eat after previously complaining about the local cuisine they were being served. “Praise Him! Finally, some real food!,” Kandi Burruss gushed. “Woohoo!” The Xscape singer, 42, and cast mates NeNe Leakes, Cynthia Bailey, Porsha Williams, Eva Marcille, Shamari DeVoe, Marlo Hampton, and Tanya Sam had all just come from their first group lunch in the foreign country, a meal that wasn’t exactly embraced by all. “I don’t know what this is,” Burruss had said on last week’s episode as she looked at the menu. “I’m letting y’all know now, y’all cannot feed this to me and then talk about how y’all already ate lunch. I’m going to have to order something else.” “Listen, if you give me a menu and it started out with charcoal salmon tartar, that’s a nar-nar,” she added. “I’m good for trying something new when I’m not starving. [But] I’m hungry!” Joked Bailey, “I’m excited about everything that’s in front of me right now. Kandi on the other hand seems to be a little bit confused. For the first time, Kandi doesn’t seem to be that excited about eating!” Christopher Jue/Bravo The Most Ridiculous New Fast Food Menu Items of 2018 Burruss wasn’t the only one struggling, though. Williams — who is expecting her first child with fiancé Dennis McKinley, a girl — also turned her nose up about some of the food in front of her, asking, “What is this?” as she inspected the dishes on the table. Later, when the ladies got back in the car, their travel guide, Aya, had their fast food meals waiting for them. “Did you enjoy sushi? Well, I don’t think it was enough for you, so I got you some extra McDonald’s,” Aya said, to the cheers of Burruss and Williams. “Bring on the Big Mac!” Williams gushed. Later, during another group meal, Burruss found herself frustrated over the food options once again. Sam, who was co-hosting the trip with Marcille, tried to encourage Burruss to take a bite. “Kandi, I promise you it does taste like bacon,” she said. But Burruss wasn’t buying it. “There are things that taste like bacon that aren’t bacon, but this ain’t it, and I don’t want to be here,” she said. “I better be fine as wine when I get back to the U.S. because clearly I did not eat!” Justin Sullivan/Getty Kim Zolciak-Biermann’s Favorite Thing She Ate in Italy Was a Hot Fudge Sundae from McDonald’s Burruss and Williams weren’t the only Atlanta Housewives who turned to McDonald’s to help with their meals while on vacation. Back in October 2017, former RHOA star Kim Zolciak-Biermann told PEOPLE that the best thing she ate while she, her husband Kroy Biermann and their daughters Brielle Biermann and Ariana Biermann were on vacation in Florence and Venice was McDonald’s. “I went to McDonald’s and had a hot fudge sundae,” Zolciak-Biermann, 40, said. “I had this vision of Italy like, ‘Ugh, the best food in the world! The cappuccinos!’ and kind of these things. And … I didn’t really think it was like actually any good,” the mother of six added. “I was very hungry there.” The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sundays (9 p.m. ET) on Bravo.
