Entertainment TV Ramona Singer 'Was Drinking Like Crazy' Before 'RHONY' Rampage Caused Thousands of Dollars in Damage: Source Ramona Singer has "always been volatile," says a source close to the Real Housewives of New York By Dave Quinn Dave Quinn Instagram Twitter Dave Quinn is an Editor for PEOPLE, working across a number of verticals including the Entertainment, Lifestyle and News teams. People Editorial Guidelines Published on June 8, 2017 04:17 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Ramona Singer found herself in a heated, alcohol-fueled argument with Bethenny Frankel at Dorinda Medley‘s Berkshires house on Wednesday’s Real Housewives of New York City — but it’s what allegedly happened after that argument really had Singer in hot water. As Medley showed in photos later on in the episode, Singer allegedly caused extensive damage to the room where she was staying in Medley’s Berkshires home before she left when she removed temporary light fixtures off the wall — taking portions of the wall’s paint job with them. “When I walked into that room and saw what she did, I wanted to cry,” a tearful Medley explained in the episode. “It was not even about the paint work. It’s like, this is my home — I love my home. Enough has been taken from me, now you’re going to do this to my home?” Medley continued, “I don’t even get so much as an acknowledgment. She left, bed unmade, same old thing as if all’s well. Nothing. I mean, what does that say about our friendship. Does Ramona just treat me like this or does she treat all our friends like this?” The damage was so bad that Medley mentioned sending the bill to Singer. Instead, she confronted her friend about the damage, but Singer quickly changed the subject to her feud with Frankel. Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty While Singer avoided the confrontation in the episode, a source close to Medley says the 52-year-old Housewife’s beef with Singer is far from over. “Ramona just doesn’t take others into consideration and wrecked Dorinda’s home,” the insider says. “It cost thousands of dollars to repair the room. There were extra lights set up in the film so the producers could film in the rooms, and instead of turning them off she just ripped them off the walls. The paint was peeled off — and it is not a cheap house. It has specific design styles and cost a fortune to take it back to what it was.” Adds the insider: “Dorinda is still not happy with her still, but they have to work together. They are still pleasant to each other, but you don’t forget after disrespecting a home like that.” The source also questioned Singer’s state of mind that evening, claiming the 60-year-old “was drinking like crazy” and adding “she’s always been volatile.” (Singer declined PEOPLE’s request for comment.) Matthew Eisman/Getty Singer acknowledged in the episode that she had had too much to drink before her argument with Frankel. In her BravoTV blog on Thursday, she went on to own that she had in fact damaged Medley’s walls — though she insisted it was accidental. “As far as the paint coming off in the corners of the room, that happened because when I went to go to sleep that night everyone was already asleep,” Singer wrote. “My room was lit up like a football stadium at a night game, because the lights from filming were all still up. I know that in the past the crew uses double-sided tape to put them up, so I just pulled them down. I guess I was stronger than I thought! Therefore, yes, the paint came off the wall.” Astrid Stawiarz/Getty Singer additionally told Jenny McCarthy on her SiriusXM show Thursday that she had apologized to Medley and that production had paid for the damage. “The production company has a huge insurance policy,” Singer said. “She got a free paint job. Of course it’s upsetting because no one wants to have their house damaged. But the good news is production fixed it, they paid for it, and the entire room got fixed like new.” “I thought the ceilings would look much worse, but it wasn’t that bad!” she added. “I’m not saying it wasn’t good, but I expect it to be much worse too.” She also spun the incident’s aftermath in her blog, writing, “A little freshening up with a new coat of paint never hurt a room!” FROM PEN: Andy Cohen’s Pick for the Most Absurd Real Housewives Business Ever Singer did deny one claim from Medley — that she had, in fact, made the bed. “I did not leave my guest room at Dorinda’s a mess,” she wrote on BravoTV. “I actually packed for [Sonja Morgan] (as you saw). I did make the bed!” Luann D’Agostino stood by Medley in her BravoTV blog though. “She was truly hurt by Ramona’s behavior and her destructiveness,” D’Agostino wrote. “Ramona needs to apologize to Dorinda. But this time apologies might not be enough.” The Real Housewives of New York City airs Wednesdays (9 p.m. ET) on Bravo.
