Lynne Curtin‘s problems with her teen daughter Alexa just keep getting worse! There was the time when she asked for a beer at Gretchen‘s tanning party. And then she didn’t show up for the family’s second session with the teen whisperer and missed her curfew. And on Thursday’s Real Housewives of Orange County, when Lynne tried to talk to her daughter while shopping at the mall, Alexa, 16, blew up at her and called her a “b—-.”

“I’m your mom and I love you and all I want is the best for you,” Lynne said. “I want to make progress in our relationship.”

Alexa’s answer: “I don’t care … All you want me to do is make a freakin’ commercial for your cuffs.” And with that, she took off the silver cuff she was wearing — one from Lynne’s collection of cuffs — and threw it on the table.

“Oh thanks a lot,” Lynne said. “That’s really sweet.”

“Kiss my ass,” Alexa replied.

“That’s really nice that you treat my cuffs that way.”

“All you care about is yourself,” Alexa said. “I’m done,” and she walked away.

Later, during a gourmet chef party at fellow Housewife Alexis‘s house, where the ladies — Lynne, Gretchen and Tamra (Vicki had to work) — cooked their own meal, drank lots of wine and had lunch, things got heated between Gretchen and Lynne when the conversation turned to Lynne’s relationship with her daughter and Gretchen’s botched attempt to help.

“I was upset that you were stepping over boundaries,” a tipsy Lynne said of Gretchen and Alexa’s infamous shopping trip.

“You were upset because she called you out on some things of you as a mother,” Gretchen replied. “Your children need a little bit more guidance from you. You are capable of that Lynne. You can give that to them. They need it. They’re craving it!”

But Lynne had a problem with Gretchen, who is not a mother, giving her parenting advice. “Until you have kids, you can’t really talk to who have kids and judge them and tell them what to do,” she said.

Gretchen’s response: “Just because you pop a child out between your legs doesn’t give you the God-given right to know how to parent!”

That really set Lynne off. “Bulls—!” she screamed. “You know what, f— you!”

It wasn’t long before Lynne was sobbing, telling Gretchen, her host Alexis and Tamra that she’s tried everything to be a good mother. “You have no idea what it’s going to be like,” she said of parenting teens. “Be afraid! It’s not an easy thing to deal with. It’s horrible. You can’t control what they do … It’s Orange County. It’s freakin’ hard to live in Orange County!” –Aaron Parsley

Tell us: What’s your advice for Lynne? Is Gretchen right or should she keep quiet until she’s a parent? And why didn’t Tamra, whose son Ryan has been a challenge, speak up and offer support?
