Rachel Bloom on Her 'Awesome' Golden Globes Win and the Comedy Icon Who Reached Out to Congratulate Her
Bloom stars on The CW's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
Bloom told reporters at the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards HBO Party that “a lot of people” congratulated her after she nabbed the Globe for best performance in a television series, musical or comedy.
“I introduced myself to Amy Adams who’s so nice,” she said. “Katherine McPhee is wonderful. She loves the show, and it was so nice to have her congratulate me in that way.”
Even a television icon quickly found a way to reach out to the Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star: “Carol Burnett emailed me.”
The 28-year-old, who plays the quirky Rebecca Bunch on the musical show, said she feels “awesome” after being recognized with the award and revealed that she has some fun plans on what to do with it.
“Kill a burglar,” she joked of uses for the trophy. “Every part of this is a weapon. Like you should not be allowed to take this on planes. I feel like if a terrorist tried to take over a plane, I could be like, ‘Not so fast! I have a Globe!’ ”
Bloom also couldn’t wait to hang out with Helen Mirren at the star-studded afterparty – that is, if she had time.
“I’ve received 200 text messages,” she shared. Better get typing!
