Priyanka Chopra Says Children with Husband Nick Jonas 'Needs to Happen' — Eventually
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas may still be newlyweds, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have babies on the brain.
The former Quantico actress, 36, revealed on Monday that while she and her musician husband are in no rush to start a family, she’ll be ready for diaper duty when it comes.
“We both know that that’s something that needs to happen, but it’s not something I think about very much,” she told reporters at the premiere of Isn’t It Romantic (presented by Captain Morgan) at The Theater at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles. “We’re both very driven, we love our work, we’re married to our work, and we’re both very supportive of each other’s work. So I’m sure it will happen in an organic way.”
When it does, Jonas, 26, won’t be the first of his famous siblings to tackle fatherhood: older brother Kevin Jonas, 31, has two daughters, Alena, 5, and Valentina, 2, with wife Danielle Jonas, 32.
The couple previously opened up about potential parenthood to PEOPLE.
“I always say, ‘Man proposes, God disposes.’ So I’m not taking any chances,” Chopra said. “We definitely want kids, and when the time is right, it will happen.”
Added Jonas to PEOPLE, “Let us be married first for a while before we have to make all these big decisions. We’re in our honeymoon period right now and we will be for a very long time.”
Chopra and Jonas tied the knot in December in Jodhpur in a lavish, two-day ceremony that they followed with a second reception two weeks later in Mumbai.
The honeymoon stage seems to still be in full bloom for the stars, as Chopra told reporters on Monday that their first few months of marriage have been “just magical.”
“We haven’t changed, strangely, because we’re still navigating… getting to know each other, and it’s just magical, because every day is like a new feeling and a new day and you’re learning something new,” she said.
As for whether fans will ever see the stars team up on a project, Chopra said there’s no guarantee — but, considering they’re both “creative people,” their “paths are bound to cross” professionally.
