Do you remember the ’80s R&B duo “Afro & Deziak?”

If not, there’s a pretty good reason for it: They only exist in the minds of Pharrell Williams and Jimmy Fallon.

That said, we kind of wish they’d been real, based on this clip.

The duo’s song, “Girl, I’m Gonna Get You in the Mood,” is a near-perfect pastiche of 1980s R&B, shiny suits and all, though we can’t ever remember a song from that era that ends in a request for the singer’s lady to pay their rent. (Or, as gets said in the bit, “cover my shift at IHOP.”)

If there’s one thing we’re going to take away from this, however, it’s that Fallon needs to grow a mustache, stat. Side note: How does Questlove not make an appearance in this bit? That man’s Afro was made for guest appearances in fake ’80s R&B bands.)
