This is Patrick Stewart as you’ve never seen him before – snorting coke, drinking, fighting and getting into trouble with police.

No, this isn’t an episode of Star Trek Captains Gone Wild. Sir Patrick is playing a debauched cable news host named Walter Blunt in the new Starz series Blunt Talk.

The comedy, which is executive produced by Seth MacFarlane and Bored to Death‘s Jonathan Ames, also stars Oscar nominee Jackie Weaver and Curb Your Enthusiasm‘s Richard Lewis and is set to premiere in the summer.

“My career took an abrupt and radical left turn when Seth MacFarlane created CIA Deputy Director Avery Bullock on American Dad,” Stewart said last year after the new show was greenlit for two seasons.

“This new character, Walter Blunt, is not at all like Avery, thank God, because this is live action and I am a Knight of the Realm,” he continued. “Blunt is, however, much smarter than Avery and has his own TV show, which has to be better than being Deputy Director of the CIA.”
