A Southern-fried Snooki?

If early buzz is any indication, it looks like the Jersey Shore is going country in Party Down South, CMT’s new reality show premiering Jan. 16.

The show, which is the brainchild of Jersey Shore creator SallyAnn Salsano, follows the drinking and drama of eight Southern guys and gals as they summer on the South Carolina coast.

Adds CMT on the show’s website: “Follow eight young, brazen adults for one wild summer of extreme fun. Their summer vacation spot, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, may never be the same after these fast friends work, party and bond with one another over their common love of the South.”

Cast members include Ryan (aka “Daddy”), “a 33-year-old southern ladies man from Orange Beach, Ala., [with] better luck hunting women than deer. Daddy has an appetite for courting danger and he never leaves home without his best friend, the beer funnel.”

And meet Taylor Wright (aka “Lil Bit”), 23, “who, despite her petite build, isn’t afraid to stand her ground and make sure her voice is heard. A native of Rockingham, N.C., Lil Bit loves guns and her Bible – so much so that she sleeps with one hand on each of those items every night.”

“She tends to the voice of reason, yet her reason is definitely off and skewed,” Salsano tells the New York Post.

Here’s hoping Pauly D stops by to DJ one of their house parties with a club remix of “Red Solo Cup.”
