Even if you’re not familiar with Outlander and all its gripping twists, turns and time-traveling, there’s one thing you’re probably pretty sure of: Sam Heughan is very, very easy on the eyes.

So what can we expect now that he’s prepping to play an older Jamie Fraser in the upcoming season 3?

“I’m thinking about getting really fat,” the actor joked to Vulture at a screening of Star Trek Beyond on Monday. “I’m thinking eating a lot and not working out would be really good.”

Of course, he was just kidding: “Do we really want to see that?” he quickly added, shaking his head.

Season 2 of the hit Starz series wrapped with a flash-forward of his on-screen love interest Claire (Caitriona Balfe), but viewers still haven’t seen how aging affects her 18th-century husband. Although Heughan can’t say much, the 36-year-old does explain “it’s less about his appearance, and more about who he is without Claire.”

“It’s going to be a completely different show,” he added. “Next year’s stuff is probably the most interesting, in a way. We’ve been setting it up, setting the stage, introducing these characters, and now it goes into new, different worlds.”

One particularly new setting for the hit show? The Caribbean! And while it hasn’t been determined where the production will actually shoot those scenes, Heughan thinks going to “Jamaica would be nice.”

“Piña coladas!” he added. Count us in!

A premiere date for Outlander season 3 has not yet been announced.
